What happens to my files and my data if I get a refund?
The money returns to the card you paid with, and your interview answers run out on the usual one-year schedule — or immediately, if you ask us to delete them.
A refund is a payment question and a data question, and they are worth keeping apart.
The payment
It goes back to the method you paid with, typically within five to ten business days depending on your bank, with no processing fee deducted. Nothing about a refund is conditional on what you did with the files: the policy says in as many words that a refund within 14 days applies whether or not you have downloaded the documents.
The data
- Your interview answers stay encrypted and are destroyed a year after delivery by a scheduled job, exactly as they would be without a refund.
- You can have them deleted sooner. Email support@namechangeworks.com from the address you used and we act within 30 days.
- A record that a purchase happened — the amount, the date, and which package — is kept for accounting and tax purposes, as the law requires.
- Files already on your own computer are yours, and nothing we do reaches into them.
If the reason for the refund is that something in the kit was wrong, say what it was when you write. That is how the next person’s version gets fixed.
