Name Change Works

What are the notification letters?

A written letter for every organization that takes one, in your own voice, ready to sign and send. They carry no branding of ours at all.

The government steps get all the attention because they have deadlines. The ones that bite are the others: a bank that still has your former name when you deposit a check, an insurer whose policyholder name does not match your ID, a W-2 in January in a name you stopped using in spring. Each of those needs telling, separately, and writing fifteen letters by hand is what people discover months later.

You list the organizations. We write a letter to each one, stating the change, naming the document that authorized it, and asking them to update their records.

Why they carry no branding

The letters go out over your signature, to your bank and your employer. A service’s name across the top would tell the recipient that somebody else wrote it, which weakens the letter and tells them something about you that is none of their business. So the letters carry no header of ours, no footer, and no disclaimer — they read as what they are, a letter from you.
