Can I go back and change an answer?
Go back to any step and change it. After your kit is built the interview is still open: change the answer, then build the documents again from your kit page.
While you are still answering
Nothing is locked. The rail beside the questions links every step you have reached, so you can jump back, change an answer, and carry on from where you were. The change is saved as soon as you move on, and everything downstream is built from the answers as they stand when you buy.
One answer moves more than itself: the state you live in. Your state decides which license form is yours, and therefore whether there are extra questions to ask you at all. Change it and a step may appear or disappear, and a step you had finished may need one more answer before it counts as done again.
After your kit is built
Your interview stays open after you buy, and changing an answer is something you do yourself. From your kit page, open any filled form with “Check it over”, then click the box that is wrong — it takes you to the question that fills it. Change the answer and come back to your kit, where a note will tell you the files were built before that change and offer to build them again. That takes a few seconds and rewrites every form, letter and step from your answers as they stand.
A document is rebuilt rather than a field edited, which is why the change shows on your kit before it shows in the PDF you already downloaded. Download it again after the rebuild and it will match.
If the mistake was ours rather than yours, write to the address your kit arrived from and tell us what is wrong. We prepare the affected document again at no charge, for a year from your purchase.
This is also why we keep your answers for a year rather than deleting them at delivery. A document cannot be rebuilt from nothing, and the year the answers live for is the same year the redo promise runs for. After that the answers are deleted and the files you downloaded are what you have.
A name spelled the way you want it printed is worth reading twice on the first step. It is the one answer that appears on every document in the kit.
