What arrives in the printed packet?
The printed copy isn't on sale yet — this describes how it will work. The whole kit, printed and bound in one envelope in checklist order, behind a cover sheet that lists what is inside and what to do first.
It arrives as one envelope, first class, with everything in the order you will work through it. Not six separate mailings landing on different days in no particular order — that is the opposite of what an ordered checklist is for.
- A cover sheet, first. It names what is in the envelope, numbered, and carries the one instruction that matters before you mail anything.
- Your checklist, immediately behind it, because it is the document that tells you what to do first.
- Your Social Security application, filled in on the agency’s own form.
- Your state’s sheet, and your state’s license form filled in where your state publishes one we can fill.
- Your passport sheet, naming which form your dates put you on.
- A notification letter for every organization that takes one.
What you do with it
Sign what needs signing, write in the few things we deliberately left for your pen, and send each piece where the checklist says to send it. Every document that needs a signature carries a callout saying so before you mail it, including the ones that need a witness or a notary.
Keep the packet with your certified document. Every agency in the sequence needs to see both, and the cover sheet says so at the bottom of the page.
Nothing in the envelope is a summary of the kit. It is the kit, on paper — the same documents you can download, printed and collated for you.
