What does Name Change Works do?
We prepare every form, letter, and step needed to update your name everywhere, filled out for you and put in the order that works.
A name change is one legal event followed by around forty separate notifications, and nobody tells anybody else. Social Security, your state license agency, the passport agency, the IRS, your election office, then every bank, employer, insurer, utility and subscription you deal with. Each one is its own small job with its own document requirements, and the order they are done in matters more than the speed.
You answer a set of questions once. We fill in the official forms from those answers, write a notification letter for every organization that takes one, and build a checklist for your state that puts the whole thing in sequence, with the fee and the form number against each step.
What we do not do
- We do not file anything. Every form is yours to sign and send, because the agency wants your signature and your document in the same envelope.
- We do not contact any agency, bank or employer on your behalf.
- We never read, check, or interpret your marriage certificate, decree, or court order. We ask what it says; we do not tell you what it says.
- We are not a law firm and nothing we produce is legal advice. We prepare paperwork from the information you give us.
Everything in the kit can be done yourself for free — every underlying form is published by the agency that wants it. What you are buying is the evening back.

When you’re ready to do it
Two questions about your situation first, because there is one answer that means we can’t help — and we would rather tell you that before you pay than after.
