Changing your name with TSA PreCheck

TSA requires you to update PreCheck through the same enrollment provider you originally applied with, and you cannot use PreCheck benefits until the change is complete.
TSA PreCheck handles this online, by phone or in branch.
Do the government agencies first — most companies ask for photo ID in your new name, which means your license has to be done already.

How to do it
- Contact the enrollment provider you originally applied with to update your membership.
- If you do not remember which provider processed your application, use the Known Traveler Number lookup tool to find out.
- If you are renewing and your name has changed, you can either visit an enrollment center in person or update the name through your provider.
The details that catch people out
- TSA says a name update through an enrollment provider can take up to 45 days to process.
- Until it is done you cannot use TSA PreCheck benefits when you travel.
